A tragic single-vehicle crash overnight has left one person dead in Naples, according to the Collier County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the scene around 1:06 a.m. after reports of a car fire on Livingston Road near Nicholas Way. When authorities arrived, they found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

The North Collier Fire Department was called in and quickly extinguished the blaze. Tragically, deputies confirmed that there was one person inside the car, who did not survive.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is leading the investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Details regarding how the vehicle caught fire or what may have led to the incident have not yet been disclosed.
