Chaos at North Naples Bar: Underage Groping, Brawl Ends in Taser Deployment
What began as a typical Friday night at The Legends Sports Bar devolved into chaos when two underage men using fake IDs allegedly groped a waitress and violently resisted security and law enforcement in the parking lot. The disturbing series of events left patrons shaken and has reignited concerns about safety and underage access to alcohol in Collier County.
According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. at the popular bar on U.S. 41. Staff say the two young men—both later identified as being under 21—used false identification to enter the establishment. Once inside, the situation quickly deteriorated when the pair allegedly groped a female server during her shift.
Security promptly intervened, ejecting the duo from the bar. But the confrontation didn’t end there.
Witnesses reported that once in the parking lot, the suspects grew aggressive, yelling at staff and attempting to re-enter the premises. When deputies arrived on scene in response to a disturbance call, the suspects refused commands and engaged in a physical altercation. One attempted to flee on foot and was tackled by law enforcement. The second suspect resisted so violently that a deputy deployed a taser to subdue him.
Both men were arrested and now face multiple charges, including battery, resisting arrest with violence, obstruction, and use of fraudulent identification. The name of the waitress has not been released, but she is reportedly safe and cooperating with the investigation.
"This wasn’t just kids being kids,” said one shaken patron, who witnessed the scene unfold from the bar’s outdoor patio. “It turned dark fast—people were scared, staff were yelling, and then the cops just swarmed in. One guy was on the ground screaming after getting tased.”
The Legends Sports Bar has not released an official statement, but staff have confirmed that fake IDs are an ongoing issue, especially during busy tourist weekends.
The Sheriff’s Office emphasized the seriousness of the offenses. “This wasn’t a harmless prank. This was a criminal act involving unwanted sexual contact and violence against our deputies. We will pursue full prosecution,” said a department spokesperson.
As the suspects await their court appearances, many are now questioning whether North Naples nightlife venues are doing enough to prevent underage entry and protect their staff from harassment and assault.
Anyone with additional information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
